Barely 24 hours after assumption of office as new
Commissioner of Police in Ogun state, CP Abdulmajid Ali, has assured the family
members of late Chief (Mrs) Alimot Sadiat Kareem Owogold, 82, a.k.a. Mama
Elewuju and the people of Ogun state of adequate and prompt investigation into
the murder of the slain market womens’ leader.
He also promised to apprehend the culprits within one week
as all hands will be on deck to unravel the killing.
Ali stated this when he visited the Ijebu-Ode home of the
slain Iyaloja of Ijebu Ode, who was attacked and killed by some hoodlums on
Wednesday evening in her house located at Sabo-Itanrin area, Ijebu ode.
The Commissioner of Police was accompanied by DCP Shina
Olukolu, the deputy commissioner of police in charge Criminal Investigation and
Intelligence Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta; DCP Bello Makwashi, deputy
commissioner of police in charge of Department of Operations and the State
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi and other top
officers.
Responding on behalf of the family, the younger brother to
the deceased, Alhaji Gani Sote, appreciated the command for its support and
commitment.
“I confess that I never liked the Police, but you people
have surprised and tripped me, now I am in love with the police,” Sote posited.
Another sibling, Mr Omololu Lawal, also commended the
Commissioner of Police and the entire command for their professionalism and
assurances of arresting the culprits.
