F1 star Jenson Button and his wife have been gassed in their
holiday villa in the south of France by a gang of burglars, according to
reports. The 35-year-old racing star and his partner model Jessica Michibata,
30, were rendered unconscious by the gang who stole her £250,000 engagement
ring on Monday night.
It is believed they piped anaesthetic gas into the property
through its air conditioning vents before entering the villa in Saint-Trope.
A source told the Sun newspaper: “Police have told Jenson
they’re convinced the burglars gassed the house using the air conditioning
units.
"Jenson is convinced that’s what happened too. The
burglars were in the same room as him and Jessica, rifling through all their
drawers.
“But they weren’t disturbed at all because the effects of
the gas gives the burglars free reign."
There were reportedly three other people in the property at
the time who were also affected by the gas.
Everyone in the property was in bed when the incident
happened and first realised the next morning when they discovered the house had
been ransacked.

It is believed the intruders stole property worth £300,000.
Detectives are investigating the possibility it was a two
man criminal team who may have staked out the property during their stay.
